Spring, beautiful Spring! Can it be that you are finally here at last? The late arrival of Spring means we will finally enjoy some sunshine, mild temperatures, fragrant blossoms (and unfortunately allergies for some of us too) and a promise of Summer just around the corner.

Want to earn some easy money $$$??!! We are offering $Referral Dollars$ as a way of saying ‘Thank You’ to anyone you refer to Heritage Place that moves in.  Be sure and have them mention your name when they come to tour our community.

During May watch for a Memorial Day BBQ, croquet on the back lawn, an outdoor carnival, our 2nd Annual Ladies Tea and Fashion Show and much more fun!

I always welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss any questions and feedback you might have.  Rachel at the Front Desk will be happy to schedule an appointment for us to meet.

1 pkg yellow cake mix
3 eggs
1 can apple pie filling
1/2 c. applesauce

Mix cake mix, eggs, pie filling and applesauce until moist.  Use a microwave safe bundt pan or glass bowl with a cup in the middle.  Pour mixture into bowl around cup.

Bake on high for 6 min. 30 seconds, turn and bake for another 6 min. 30 seconds on high.  Remove from microwave and cover bowl with a dish for 5 min (this finishes the process).

Turn cake over onto dish and remove cup for a delicious dessert.  Good served hot with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.

“E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining,

“R” means right, and right she’ll always be,

Put them all together, they spell “MOTHER,”

A word that means the world to me.

May has always been my favorite month of the year. It has beautiful sunny weather, mild warm evenings, indescribable sunsets and more flowers and blooms than I can name.     Everything seems to be a beautiful living postcard. We have been so blessed to live in such a wonderful place and to have lots of holidays and special events going on this month..

First we have Cinco de Mayo, May 5th.   We will be celebrating with a special movie and a traditional lunch.

Sunday, May 13th, as most of us know, is MOTHER’S DAY.   We will be having a     Mother’s Day Tea at 2pm that day to honor all our special Moms.  Everyone is invited, but please R.S.V.P. by May 9th if you would like to attend  (541) 347-7502.

Friday,  May 18th, is ‘Red Shirt Day’.  Our staff and residents are invited to wear ‘Red Shirts’ to show their pride, support and appreciation for our members of the Armed Forces and the job they do.

Friday, May 25th, at 11:45 will be our 2nd Annual Summer Kick off BBQ. I will be ‘Grilling’ the hotdogs and we will be having yard games, so bring your favorite dish and join in the fun.

And finally on Monday, May 28th, Memorial Day, we will be having some special events to honor our fallen soldiers.

I hope to see you all real soon.  So come on down and join in the fun.

Progress has little to do with speed, but much to do with direction – Unknown

Ladies it is almost here! Our Ladies Tea and Fashion Show.  Our theme this year is ‘Lavender and Lace’.

The tea will in the Heritage Place Dining Room on Saturday,  May 12, from 1:00pm-3:00pm.

A complimentary Keepsake Photo will be available for you.

Make your reservations early with Rachel at the front desk as space is limited.

On Tuesday, May 22 from 10:00am -11:30am we will have the second in our series of informational opportunities concerning dementia.

Our focus this month will be: ‘How do you live with dementia?’.

Kit O’Callaghan, a graduate of Oregon College of Education with a Master of Science in Education and Counseling, will share information and discuss what drives the need for care and what the available options are.

Lunch will be served following the presentation, so please make your reservations early.
